EMG eMASSⓇ electromagnetic strip stabilization: a solution for all needs

With more than 60 installations worldwide, the electromagnetic strip stabilization EMG eMASS® has meanwhile established itself as the standard solution for achieving optimum coating results in hot-dip galvanizing and hot-dip aluminizing.

This high market acceptance was only possible because EMG eMASS® is now available in different versions which can be optimally adapted to the respective individual plant conditions, installation types and customer objectives. The resulting product portfolio thus offers the possibility of either strip stabilization:

  • directly on the blow-off nozzle,
  • as a "standalone" system, mounted on a separate stand on the factory floor, independent of the air knife (the most common and most flexible solution) or
  • in combination with the DUMA-BANDZINK air knife technology as an "integrated solution" to achieve even better coating homogeneity. A minimum distance to the air knife lips is achieved (< 900 mm).

Whichever arrangement is chosen, EMG eMASS® enables the user to achieve very homogeneous surface coatings with high production throughput and minimized zinc consumption.

Today’s system generation incorporates the experience and system knowledge from more than 10 years of application and technology development. The last quantum leap in this development is the optional horizontal movement of all magnetic actuator pairs of the strip stabilization, so that all strip widths including lateral strip deviations can be optimally covered.

Experience EMG eMASS® technology at METEC 2019

In this context, as a highlight of the EMG exhibition stand at METEC 2019, we realized a functional demonstrator of an EMG eMASS® magnetic box in real size with movable actuators. This demonstration system for electromagnetic strip stabilization helps to better understand the functionality and extraordinary performance of the EMG eMASS® technology. An absolute must for every engineer and every technically interested person! What’s special about this system is that it can be "touched and admired" – so you don’t need 3D glasses or anything like that to experience EMG technology live. You will probably remember your visit to the EMG stand well because of this moveable  system and the hopefully equally moving experience with the technology and the discussions with our experts.

So, don’t hesitate to visit us at the EMG booth G28 in hall 4!

Conclusion: EMG eMASS® today covers almost all integration and application requirements and offers high investment security and a secure "Return of Invest" due to its broad experience in production use. With regard to plant integration and system usage, almost all customer requirements can be implemented. When choosing EMG eMASS®, the user can therefore concentrate on achieving his production goals and can confidently put aside technical imponderables with regard to system function.
