From AI to 3D vision: IDS cameras and solutions help with automation projects

Held once every two years in the United States, Automate is the broadest automation solutions event in North America, aiming to give an overview of the automation industry. The IDS Inc. team is available at booth 9528 and explains how IDS cameras and solutions help with automation projects.

Both 3D Ensenso cameras and the vision app-based camera series IDS NXT can play a vital part in automation processes. At Automate, several demos show how these solutions work. An IDS NXT vegas model helps to detect unsealed drums transported by an conveyer belt, for example. Image processing, lens and light are already integrated in the novel industrial camera.

IDS NXT rio is another member of the vision app-based camera family. Thanks to artificial intelligence, it autonomously locates and recognizes different objects. Equipped with standard industrial housing, high-performance hard- and software components and the unique vision app approach, it redefines industrial cameras. At Automate, visitors can see how this model makes use of self-learning algorithms to solve tasks that can’t be realized with traditional industrial cameras.

Ensenso stereo vision cameras, on the other hand, are ideal robot eyes. A joint demonstration with Techman Robot at the IDS booth shows how an Ensenso N35 camera helps a robot to succeed in bin picking. Visitors shouldn’t miss the chance to see these and other products – such as the boardlevel uEye LE models with active focus – live at Automate, booth no. 9528.

Jeremy Bergh, President North America, sums it up: “We are really looking forward to share our innovations that will help drive the Industry even further. There is certainly a place at the table for machine vision at Automate, and we are looking forward to gathering with our friends there and hopefully meeting new ones with interesting challenges that we can help solve!”
