A quantum leap into the future

Since the company was founded 35 years ago, toolcraft has continuously expanded its production space in Georgensgmünd and Spalt in Bavaria. The groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for the construction of a new technical high purity cleaning hall, which will be of great importance for the future of the company.

High-tech with an eye on the future

The last groundbreaking ceremony on the toolcraft AG premises in Georgensgmünd was just three years ago. At that time, the go-ahead was given for the construction of a new injection moulding hall. The family-owned company is now planning to deliver this outstanding technology, setting the course for the future. The company is building a hall for technical high purity cleaning with an area of approx. 3000 square metres and a cleanroom compliant with ISO 6, with an area of approx. 550 square metres. ‘This is a huge milestone – not just for toolcraft, but also for working with our long-standing partner from the semiconductor industry’, says Bernd Krebs, company founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at toolcraft AG. In future, components up to a size of 1.5 by 1.0 metres will be fine-cleaned and packaged in the building – under precisely defined, consistent conditions of humidity, temperature and pressure. There will also be constant monitoring end-to-end with high accuracy to ensure that a specified ultra-low particle concentration is not exceeded. The plan is to bring the technical high purity cleaning system online in spring 2026, after extensive work on the interior of the building.

New jobs for the region

Building the hall will significantly increase the number of staff, which is currently more than 450 employees. Around 20 new jobs are planned now, with up to 50 in the long term. ‘By building a cleanroom, we are creating one of the cleanest workplaces in Germany’, says Karlheinz Nüsslein, Head of Human Resources and Production at toolcraft. The specialists working at the facility will not only wear special protective clothing, but they will also receive extensive training in advance on rules of conduct, work processes and control mechanisms. ‘The requirements for a cleanroom set completely new standards and exceed the existing values in terms of precision and accuracy. We are looking forward to this challenge, which is a quantum leap into the future for toolcraft’, adds Nüsslein. toolcraft has been getting the initial pieces into place with its recruitment policy for some time now. That means the medium-sized company will increasingly be on the lookout for new talent who want to play an active role in shaping the future of the company.
