A clean sweep for ZERO – The ODU-MAC® ZERO wins 2018 German Design Award

The ODU-MAC® ZERO, from connector manufacturer ODU, came out the winner of the “Excellent Product Design – Industry” category at the prestigious German Design Award ceremony in Frankfurt last week. ODU product managers for modular rectangular connectors, Bernhard Säckl and Julia Fernandez, were thrilled: “We’re extremely proud and so grateful to all our colleagues at ODU – from design to production – who were involved in creating this product. They gave it such amazing input and energy.”

The ODU-MAC® ZERO prevailed against over 5,000 applicants from 46 categories. The jury justified its decision with the following statement: The practical hybrid connector stands out through its well-thought-out design whose form is not only multifunctional but also ergonomic.

The ODU-MAC® ZERO – A modular all-rounder

The ODU-MAC® ZERO is a newcomer to the ODU-MAC® product group of hybrid connectors. It can be used in industrial applications, test and measurement and, thanks to its non-magnetic quality, in the medical technology field as well. When it comes to functional properties, the ODU-MAC® ZERO features a lightweight ergonomic design, high packing density, a variety of coding options and innovative locking technology. It’s a true eye-catcher in the connector market – not least thanks to its compact housing design – and has already won over a wide audience.

With over 1,200 participants from the world of politics, business, design and the media, the German Design Award is one of the most prominent annual design events. It’s also an ideal occasion for establishing new professional contacts and cultivating networks. To encourage these valuable exchanges, all award winners were granted access to the Sponsors’ and Winners’ Lounge and were entered into this year’s Award Book. In addition to being highlighted at the award ceremony, all winners will be presented to the public in the context of an exhibition.
