Mining gold, silver and precious stones

There is an old shipwreck in Colombia that the local government now wants to salvage.

Up to 20 billion US dollars worth of gold, silver and precious stones are said to lie dormant in sunken treasures in Colombia. The shipwreck is around 300 years old. Although US treasure hunters are claiming half of the treasure, President Gustavo Petro still wants to retrieve the galleon "San Jose" from the bottom of the Caribbean Sea. A public-private partnership or a deal with a private company should help. Petro and Culture Minister Juan David Correa are determined to salvage the wreck. The Galone was sunk by the British in 1708, along with silver and gold from Peru, Colombian emeralds and gold and silver coins. There are still some lost treasures, such as the famous Amber Room and treasures hidden by pirates on Cocos Island. This served as the model for the novel "Treasure Island". Treasure hunters are still on the move there today.

The average citizen is unlikely to find treasure so easily. But with gold and silver as investment vehicles, there is a good chance of preserving value or even making a profit. Investors today are looking for alternatives to hedge against inflation and geopolitical uncertainties. The gold market offers good investment opportunities and demand is solid. Even if the Fed’s restrictive monetary policy has strengthened the US dollar and bond yields have risen in 2023. If you are looking for gold as insurance and want leverage on the gold price, you can take a look at gold companies such as Calibre Mining or Karora Resources.

Calibre Mininghttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/calibre-mining-corp/ – produces gold in North and South America. Production is increasing and the latest drilling results yielded up to almost 19 grams of gold per ton of rock.

Karora Resourceshttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/karora-resources-inc/ – is pleased with the production figures for its two gold mines in Western Australia. The mines delivered more than 120,000 ounces in the first three quarters of 2023.
