Hyland Healthcare and iTernity form strategic partnership to create innovative synergies for healthcare IT

Hyland Healthcare, a leading global provider of intelligent content and enterprise imaging solutions, has partnered with iTernity, a specialist in secure data archiving and storage, to enhance the security and efficiency of healthcare data storage.

The partnership combines two innovative technologies – iTernity iCAS FS and Acuo VNA from Hyland Healthcare – to create an optimised solution for the management of healthcare data.

The Acuo VNA is an advanced archiving imaging platform that consolidates image content from multiple sources within a healthcare organisation into a unified repository. This repository supports DICOM and multimedia formats, ensuring seamless integration and exchange of images between different systems and applications.

With iCAS FS, healthcare organisations benefit from a scalable, hardware-independent managed storage platform for archive and backup data. The platform impresses with its low total cost of ownership, and high level of security and flexibility. It also brings cloud benefits to customers’ own data centres.

The combination of Acuo VNA and iCAS FS provides joint customers with a vendor-independent archiving solution for storing and protecting image data. This solution protects against hardware dependency, tampering and ransomware. Customers will also benefit from features such as WORM storage, S3 object locking, encryption, replication and retention management. In healthcare, it is critical to securely store sensitive data from multiple departments and applications while ensuring compliance.

“Adopting the right IT infrastructure to safely store and share imaging content is essential to minimize the risks to patient information,” said Lyle McMillin, principal product manager at Hyland. “Built to support growing storage needs, the combination of Acuo VNA and iTernity iCAS FS will enable healthcare organisations to increase their efficiency while ensuring the highest level of data security.”

"With Hyland Healthcare, we have found an ideal partner to further advance our vision of an advanced healthcare IT solution in the area of data archiving and storage,” said Dr. Marta Borasio, Product Manager at iTernity.
