The tremendous demand was evident at the HPS booth, where over 500 written expressions of interest were collected from potential customers and partners during the three-day event. "This surge of interest and enthusiasm for our year-round electricity storage system, picea, encourages us in our work. The fair has brought us a significant step closer to achieving our strategic expansion goal for our nationwide partner network in Germany," says Zeyad Abul-Ella, CEO and founder of HPS.
During the fair, HPS introduced a new option for integrating battery storage. Customers who already have a PV system and have installed a short-term battery storage system can now further enhance their level of independence by incorporating their existing battery when they purchase a picea system.
Another highlight this year was the demonstration of the new picea app, which will be available in the fourth quarter of 2024. The app’s existing features have been expanded, including the visualization of live energy flows and, notably, the scope and presentation of historical energy data. This development addresses customers’ desire for more detailed information. While the previous app was designed for use on tablets, the newly revamped app will be available for iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphones and tablets.
HPS is the world leader in the development and production of integrated energy storage systems based on green hydrogen for homes, multi-family houses and commercial properties. HPS addresses important areas of the energy transition with its innovative picea year-round electricity storage system. The surplus energy generated by a photovoltaic system on sunny days is stored as green hydrogen and used in the dark season to supply electricity and heat. Thus, buildings can be provided with solar energy from their own roofs all year round. The Berlin-based company was founded in 2014 by Zeyad Abul-Ella and Dr. Henrik Colell. HPS has won several prestigious awards with picea, most recently the Handelsblatt Energy Award, the Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Award and the Sustainability Challenge of the German Sustainable Building Council.
