- More than 1,000 decision makers, more than 2,000 networking meetings and 50 pitches are expected at the 4th European Chemistry Partnering in Frankfurt, Germany
- Networking starts at the Get-Together on the evening before
- Still some exhibition sites available
With its fourth iteration coming up on February 27, 2020 in Frankfurt, Germany, the European Chemistry Partnering (ECP) has become an incubator of ideas itself. More than 1,000 participants from the chemical industry and its user industries will meet to discuss future projects and potential collaborations. The Berlin-based international Innovation Network for Advanced Materials (INAM) will introduce itself to the ECP community with no less than five start-ups.
New perspectives, efficient networking, innovative impulses and advanced materials – participants of the 4th European Chemistry Partnering (ECP) will experience a dynamic mixture on February 27 in Frankfurt am Main. The leading speed-dating event of the chemical industry has evolved step by step into an attractive point of attraction for innovate initiatives. For the first time, the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials (INAM, www.inam.berlin) will be present in the exhibition hall. Founded in 2016 by the Humboldt University Berlin, Berlin Partner, ORSAM, IRIS Adlershof and Fab Lab Berlin, the network aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and industry in the area of materials sciences.
“With our annual accelerator program, we support the collaboration between companies, start-ups and research institutions and accelerate the route to market for technology innovations,” is how Dr. Ferdinand Bartels, Head of the Executive Board of INAM explains the idea of the successful network.
INAM will present five start-ups in the exhibition area at the 4th ECP:
- Radisurf creates nanometer-thin surface coatings on metals that can be secured with plastics & other dissimilar materials through < 100 nm long polymer brushes.
- Thermulon deploys the latest advances in chemical and processing technology into the first building insulation material to satisfy the criteria of fire-safety, performance and price.
- Nano-join produces new silver sintering pastes that enable electronic connections with maximum heat conduction.
- INURU: produces low cost OLEDs for better visible, sustainable and smart packaging and labels.
- OrelTech is a leader in the field of advanced metallization techniques. The patented surface coating technology can be utilized across a range of industries, including chemical manufacturing and aerospace/automotive.
Dr. Holger Bengs, CEO of BCNP Consultants GmbH and Initiator of the European Chemistry Partnering says: “With their disruptive ideas, their agile and unconventional actions, start-ups are the icing on the cake for the ECP. I am very proud to welcome Berlin based INAM as the first start-up initiative at the 4th ECP. We constantly need new materials in order to reduce waste of natural resources while meeting our needs for housing, clothing, communicating and staying healthy which will always remain on our daily agendas.”
Background:
97 percent of all products contain at least one chemical process step: renewable raw materials, enzymes, industrial biotechnology, new processes, products from residual materials, digitization, etc. are changing the processes in chemical value creation: starting with purchasing logistics on to production and finally marketing and sales. Interdisciplinary exchange is gaining in importance. With the ECP, an international chemistry community is growing that wants to derive more innovation from what already exists.

European Chemistry Partnering: A brief overview
The European Chemistry Partnering is an event format in which the focus is on discussion about innovation along the chemical value chain. It is aimed at decision makers, innovation managers and investors in the chemical industry and its user industries, as well as industry-focused stakeholders and qualified service providers and consultants. The ECP consists of the elements: Keynote Speech, Partnering, Pitches, Exhibition, Workshops and Final Panel. Companies can describe their innovations in short presentations (Pitches) and arrange appointments via a software tool in advance (Partnering). The ECP always begins at the Get-Together on the evening before and it ends with a joint breakfast on the next day. Satellite events organized with partners emphasize its importance as both marketplace and meeting point for decision makers. The European Chemistry Partnering was conceived and initiated by Dr Holger Bengs, CEO of BCNP Consultants GmbH. The first event took place in 2017 and has been now organized twice a year since 2018.
