The trade fair Husum Wind reflects the top-rate technology, diversity and innovative force of the German-speaking market in a perfect way as well as along the entire value added chain. Current political and technical issues such as bid invitations, maintenance concepts, repowering, and new technologies are on the agenda.
Metal-based additive manufacturing is increasingly being used in industrial production. The SLM technology provides a wide range of application possibilities in the wind energy industry, for example, in the development of wind power stations and spare parts storage. SLM Solutions Group AG will present the current state of development in selective laser melting technology at HUSUM Wind 2017. With the SLM machine 280 2.0, the Lübeck-based company will show the entire process chain (closed loop) of generative manufacturing: from data generation to the melting process and all the way to powder recovery and recycling. The SLM 280 2.0 is the ideal "all-purpose system" for both R+D areas as well as for production of highly complex components using SLM procedures. The machine fulfills customers’ demands for compact, quality- and cost-optimized solutions. In addition, the experts from SLM Solutions will present consumable materials, comprehensive services and manufactured components.
In addition to the exhibition, SLM solutions will enrich the conference program with a contribution on the additive manufacturing. On September 12 at 12 noon, conference visitors will obtain deeper insights into what benefits generative SLM technology creates in the wind energy industry. Andre Thiemann, Director of Business Development Energy at SLM Solutions Group AG, will deal with various utilization scenarios in his talk. Regardless of whether the aerodynamic parts of wind blades, electronics components in power electronics or specific tools, additive manufacturing provides a wealth of opportunities from optimizing components to new components and all the way to complex structures: lightweight and stable with minimal material use. For example, structures can be manufactured within hollow bodies using additive manufacturing processes easily, which would be impossible without this technology.
